This is a remake of the game 1983 ZX SPectrum game "3D Deathchase", originally written by Mervyn Estcourt
The player commands a high-speed pursuit bike armed with twin forward-firing lasers.
The game cycles between day and night patrols, and the player must destroy all enemy bikes on each patrol to proceed. The enemy bikes are somewhere in the trees so the player must travel fast enough to catch them up - they can only be destroyed once they are within firing range. The enemy bikes can lurk in any direction so the player will need to explore the area to find them.
As the player proceeds through the day and night patrols the density of the trees will gradually increase. The player's bike will also be slowly upgraded so they can pursue faster enemies. The number of enemies the
player will face on their patrols will also increase on the later patrols.
The player can choose an appropriate difficulty level from the menu - Easy, Normal and Hard. The player's bike is capable of travelling much faster on the harder difficulties and therefore will require more skill to
avoid the trees, but the scores awarded are higher.
The player starts with 3 lives, shown by the 3 illuminated lights on the bike's dash - crashing into any of the trees will cause the player to lose a life. Once all lives are lost the game is over.
